Paint it Forward Program Transforms Egged House

Natale Neubert, Al Clemens Sr., John Neubert, Mayor Kirsten Holsheimer Gail, Holly Neubert, Clare Neubert and the team of painters celebrate a job well done after Mr. Clemens' house was painted.

The neighborhood around Al Clemens Sr.’s house on Wilmore Avenue, was bustling with activity on May 6 when a team from Neubert Painting arrived to paint the house free of charge as part of the company’s “Paint it Forward” program.

Neighbors, friends, and Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer stopped by to watch the activity as the house, which had been egged more than 100 times between 2014 and 2015, was transformed into a soft blue and white in a single day.

“Paint it Forward,” which was created in 2008, provides free exterior painting services to a homeowner or non-profit organization whose building needs painting, but can’t afford it.   “We have been trusted by Northeast Ohio homeowners since 1975, and we feel part of our mission is to give back to our community, “ says John Neubert, owner of Neubert Painting in Brook Park.  “Paint it Forward,” continues our tradition of doing community service projects for people in need.” he says.

The company offered to paint the house last summer, but they were waiting for police approval since the case was still under investigation. Then last fall they received the go-ahead from police so they planned to do the job as soon as weather permitted.

More than $100,000 in free painting services has been provided through “Paint it Forward” since 2008.
