Euclid Resident to Launch Cleveland’s First Online Platform for Nonprofits

Pam Turos and the Cleveland Leadership Center's Accelerate 2016 finalists accept their award checks. The Good Cause Blog was sponsored in partnership with Citizens Bank, Westfield Insurance and Oswald Companies.

After fifteen years as a social worker in the healthcare and non-profit industries, Pam Turos noticed that many small, hard-working non-profits continuously struggled to build an online presence for their organization.  In May of 2015 Pam began volunteering to help some local organizations with their web site content, social media and storytelling, which quickly developed into a full time business. But she soon realized it wasn’t enough to help one organization at time, and she imagined a place where all of the great causes in Cleveland could work together, sharing space online and building a much larger audience than any of them could create alone.

After winning a start-up grant through the Cleveland Leadership Center’s Accelerate 2016: Citizen’s Make Change civic pitch competition in February of 2016, Pam Turos set out to launch the Good Cause Blog, hoping to use the power of storytelling to highlight all of the people and organizations that are transforming northeast Ohio. The Good Cause Blog will feature a variety of local non-profits with donation links, a calendar of events and a weekly newsletter highlighting all the Good Cause activities happening around town.

And while the new site is intended to serve all of greater-Cleveland, Turos admits that she hopes Euclid residents and organizations will be a big part of the movement. “My favorite thing to say about our community is that anyone who doesn't think Euclid is a wonderful place to live clearly hasn't met my neighbors. From the local girl scouts filling the shelves at the Euclid Hunger Center to the parishioners at Our Lady of the Lake quietly collecting diaper donations on behalf of mothers and infants in need – we are surrounded by good people doing great things for each other on a regular basis. I can’t wait to help tell some of those stories for the rest of Cleveland to hear.”

The Good Cause Blog is scheduled to launch June 14th – and you can visit www.GoodCauseCLE.com to find out more. Please contact pam@goodcausecreative.com to submit an inspiring story or suggest an organization as the weekly featured non-profit.
