Do You Know What is Happening in Euclid?

There are many great things happening in Euclid! Unfortunately, we often miss events, activities, and services because we don’t know about them. It’s a common problem. But, even without a daily newspaper or a computer there are ways we can keep up with events in Euclid. Below is a list of 14 ways to get information.

1.  Go to the City of Euclid website http://www.cityofeuclid.com. Here you will find information on all city departments, services, community activities, neighborhood groups and a complaint form to report issues.

2.  Stop at the Euclid Library to pick up their Library Lines and other information at the literature display in the lobby (including a copy of this list). Also, see their web site http://euclidlibrary.org.

3.  Request to be on mailing lists of local organizations and churches. Get the Euclid Senior Center newsletter at the senior center, library, or City of Euclid website. Call Shore Cultural Centre, 289-8578, for their information. (Both organizations have a wide variety of activities.)

4.  Go to the City of Euclid Neighborhood Engagement webpage on the City website http://www.cityofeuclid.com/residents/NeighborhoodEngagement for resident information (and a copy of this list). Contact Kristal Grida, 216-289-8268, for new resident packages and neighborhood association information.

5.  Watch the City of Euclid Public TV Channel 20 (Time Warner) or Ch. 99 (U-verse) for City Council and other City meetings, notices of local events, and information for residents. The channel reruns City meetings. You can also view them on online at euclidlibrary.org.

6.  Join Nextdoor.com, a secure neighborhood email system recommended by the of Euclid police department. You can talk to your neighbors about neighborhood issues and activities and receive the weekly city crime report from Kate McLaughlin, Euclid Community Policing Specialist.

7.  Take note of the reader board signs around town, especially the electronic one at E.222 & Lakeshore.

8.  Go to the City of Euclid Police webpage http://euclidpd.org for information on police activities and services. Contact Kate McLaughlin, 216-289-8449, for block watch information.

9.  Contact your ward councilperson to sign up for ward communications. Get their contact information on the city website or call City Hall, 216-289-2700.

10. Request to receive the Bethlehem Church News & Notes Bulletin via email at mmc484@att.net for notices of area events and local church activities.

11. Pick up monthly issues of the Euclid Observer at locations around the city including the Euclid Library, Board of Education, City Hall, Our Lady of the Lake, Euclid Hospital, St. Robert-William Parish office, Shore Cultural Centre, and the Euclid Police Station. Go to euclidobserver.com for more news and back issues.

12. Join Facebook.com. Facebook has several pages maintained by Euclid organizations plus resident discussions on a variety of Euclid topics. Search for “Euclid” or organization name.

13. Read the flyers and notices left in your door and any City of Euclid mailings as they may contain neighborhood or block watch news and city updates.

14. Sign up for Euclid Connect to receive important telephone messages from the City by calling City Hall at 216-289-2700 or through the City of Euclid website.

One of the best places for information is at your neighborhood association meetings. We won’t miss out on the fun when we know where to look. And remember, these are great places to advertise your organization’s upcoming events.
