Euclid's Varsity Chorale Places at The Classic!

EHS Varsity Chorale their ballad for the judges at The Cuyahoga Classic show choir competition on February 6th.

Beautiful music carried through the halls of Cuyahoga Falls High School, hosts of the Annual Cuyahoga Classic Show Choir Competition on Saturday February 6th.  For more than 12 hours, fourteen show choirs from around the tri-state area...including our very own Euclid High's Varsity Chorale, dazzled the crowds with their synchronized song and dance routines, hoping to win over the judges.  Varsity Chorale took the stage just before noon and "wowed" the house with their energetic, fun-filled throwback to the hay days of hip-hop. The stage was filled with tons of "sparkle and sweat" as VC strutted their stuff, packing in plenty of material for their 20 minute program.  The VC ladies looked stunning in their iridescent-glitter filled HOT PINK dresses, while the gentlemen were just as handsome styling their shimmering gray suits.  Their opening number, "I'll Be There", quickly showcased the group’s phenomenal singing abilities and just when you thought this first number was going to be a lovely serenade....POW....in came the powerful chorale and VC was ON FIRE, speeding up the tempo, hitting all their marks with their trademark non-stop energy!  They instantly won over the audience with every new melody....proving to everyone in the house why they deserved to be there.  The torture was having to wait until after 6:30pm to find out whether or not VC would have a placement in the finals.  Preliminaries were announced and Varsity Chorale took 3rd Place in their Tier II Mixed Division, respectively, while Senior member Ashley Johnson, was awarded the "Outstanding Performer" title for the group.  The six groups were announced for placement in the final round and EHS was named as one of the six who would perform their show one more time for the esteemed judges.  In the end, our Varsity Chorale took the well-deserved 4th runner-up spot out of the total 14 show choirs who performed all day!  They have a few weeks to brush up on their program before heading to their next competition, The Twinsburg Northcoast Invitational on February 27th, which will take place prior to this publication.  Be sure to mark your calendars for their final competition on March 12, 2016, for the Solon Show Choir Invitational, located at Solon High School.  Performance time for EHS is slated for 1:00 pm and the entire list of performing choirs can be found at the website: www.showchoir.com, under Solon Show Choir Invitational should you wish to come and cheer on VC!  The Euclid community should be proud of this hard working group of young men and woman, they truly deserve all of our love and support! GO EUCLID, GO! Bring home the GOLD!
