OLL Gives Back With Service Day
In this season of giving and thanks, it is nice to take time to appreciate what a committed and caring community we are in. Our Lady of the Lake parishioners took time out to show appreciation and give back to the community with a Service Day on November 7. Nearly 100 parishioners, friends, families and neighbors went to sites around Euclid and Collinwood to help out those who needed a hand and do their part to make our neighborhood a better place. They visited sites such as Rose-Mary Center, the HELP Foundation, Hospice of the Western Reserve, and the Euclid Hunger Center to clean, carry, sort and serve. Local homeowners got help with yard work thanks to the Boy Scouts, and our friends at the Euclid Adult Activities Center even came and helped out with preparing a lunch back at the church hall. Donuts before and lunch after gave everyone a chance to enjoy some fellowship and share the days' experiences. Everyone agreed that, young and old, we all become better stewards and better neighbors when we practice our faith together by giving back. We look forward to another Service Day event in the spring.
