Technology Enhancements at SRW

The addition of 165 Chromebooks to our fleet of technology has allowed us to move closer to our goal of 1:1 devices for our students. All students in grades 4-5-6 have been assigned a new Chromebook to utilize in the classroom and at home. There are also 2 carts of iPads and 2 carts of laptops available for student use in the classrooms.  An E-rate grant worth $14,000 provided the funding to have access points added in every classroom, allowing faster and more efficient Internet access.

The Google Classroom/Suite initiative has afforded the faculty and students an opportunity to collaborate in an online environment as an extension to in-school lessons.  Students are able to complete assignments online without the use of special and expensive hardware.  In-class, Google Classroom offers an opportunity for high-tech collaboration and formative assessment, meeting the students in the area they are most comfortable, the technological age. We are striving to live our mission: to provide a 21st century learning environment at SRW.
