Library Plans Summer Fun!

Euclid Public Library 1935-2015

The Euclid Public Library is fortunate to have two support groups, the Friends of the Library and the Foundation. Both groups exist to serve and support many aspects of the Euclid Public Library. For our Summer Reading programs, we thank the Friends of the Library for supporting our efforts to get more people to read in the summer! Thanks to them the library has prizes for all ages, from little children through adults. Everyone is welcome to register to win the prizes.

The Library's Foundation is planning a special event this summer on Friday, August 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the form of a beer tasting! They will host a program called "1930s Beer, Prohibition and Murder." Since the library is celebrating its 80th anniversary this summer, this program wil reflect the time of 1935 when the library began. Specialized beers will be served for tasting while we learn about 1935 when Eliot Ness became our Safety Director. Local history experts, Rebecca McFarland, Dr. James Badal and Mark Wade Stone will be on hand to share information about this turbulent time in our city's history. We'll havwe contests, prizes and a special gift for all guests.

Tickets for the beer tasting are $25 each and will be available beginning July 27 (21 and older only please!) Deadline for tickets is Monday, August 10.

Another historical event to look forward to will be the library's 80th Anniversary Celebration. This will be held Friday, October 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.The Friends of the Library and the Library's Foundation are partnering for this special event. We'll have heavy appetizers, beer, wine and lots of fun! We'll challenge you to see how much you might know about the 1930s. Tickets are $35 and they'll be available at the library beginning September 21.

We hope you can join us for these special events! Not only will you enjoy the fun, but you'll be helping our library's support groups as well! Thanks!
