From the desk of Mayor Bill Cervenik

Summer is such a wonderful time of the year.  Who doesn’t love warm weather, colorful flowers, fresh fruit, chats with our neighbors, and opportunities to appreciate the outdoors?

In Euclid, we have several ways for you to enjoy the fun, beauty and peacefulness of summer.  This month you have an opportunity to walk through some of the most beautifully, well landscaped homes in the area.  The Euclid Pond & Garden Tour will be held on Friday, July 17th from 6pm - 11pm and Saturday and Sunday, July 18th & 19th from 1pm - 6pm.  There are sixteen locations on the self-guided tour, all unique with a variety of designs and features. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at Euclid City Hall, Lakeshore Coffee House and Briardale Golf Course.  The Pond and Garden Tour is presented by the Euclid Shade Tree Commission. For more information go to www.cityofeuclid.com or call 216-731-7984.

Another “must do” this summer is to take a walk along the paths through Euclid Creek Reservation. With its wooded hillsides that run the length of the reservation, it is a tranquil, yet often forgotten park in Euclid. I personally love the sites and sounds of Lake Erie.  Whether boating, fishing or just taking in its splendor, the Lake can be so beautiful and mesmerizing. The Sims Park Fishing Pier and park benches offer front row seats to the nightly sunsets.

The season comes and goes quickly. Take time to relax and enjoy the simple beauty of nature.

Your friend,

Mayor Bill Cervenik
