Euclid Joint Veterans' Council Awards Memorial Day Parade Trophies

Our Memorial Day Parade, which is held in May, is a proud tradition in the City of Euclid.  Each year, many entities gather together to plan, organize and coordinate this event and to celebrate our veterans and active military personnel.

On behalf of the parade judges - D. Fay Miller, Brian Moore, and myself - we would like to extend our heartfelt thank you to our veterans, the Euclid Joint Veterans Council, Mayor Bill Cervenik and members of his Administration and staff, members of Euclid Safety Forces, various community groups, businesses and churches and the throngs of guests who scheduled time out of their day to view the parade.

We would like to applaud everyone who participated and would especially like to recognize the following units who will be receiving trophies:

  • Navy Jr. ROTC, JNROTC Drill Team (Entire Unit)

  • Euclid High School Marching Band

  • The Irish American Club East Side (Entire Unit)

  • Cleveland Style Polka Hall of Fame

  • Euclid Fire Department

  • Euclid Police Department

  • Euclid Pet Pals

  • Shore Cultural Centre

  • Euclid Hospital

  • Scouts, #161

  • Ss. Robert & William School, Church and Girl Scouts

  • Burning River Roller Derby

  • Body Rocks Dance and Fitness Studio

  • S.H.E. Be Me

This year a number of new entities marched and showcased their organizations.  We encourage and welcome other groups to take the opportunity to become involved in 2016.  Why not join in the celebration of our Veterans, our freedoms, and the City of Euclid?  Let’s unite and show our pride as we celebrate the honor of living in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
