Donut Burgers Served at Lodge 604 Utopians Picnic

Join Lodge 604 Utopians on Sunday, August 9 at SNPJ Recreation Farm in Kirtland, OH for a fun-filled day and a chance to try a popular item served at the Florida State Fair, attested to by members Rudy and Charlotte Perdan.  Aside from our usual bill of fare, roast beef and sausage dinners, we will be serving hamburgers and cheeseburgers on a krofe (donut)! Two Krispy Kreme donuts were used in Florida, so we decided to try our take using a krofe.  There will be a limited quantity so as they say, first come, first served.  We will also have regular buns for those not wishing to walk on the wild side! The usual sandwiches, sauerkraut, Slovenian potatoes, salad and krofe will be served throughout the afternoon.  Dinners are $9.00 which does not include the gate.

Speaking of the gate, Utopians will once again offer $2.00 off your admission if you bring a non-perishable food item or monetary donation to the Cleveland Food Bank.  Thanks to your generosity last year, 82 pounds of food was collected and donated.  What a worthwhile cause.

From 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., music will be provided by the Ron Likovic Band.  We all know what beautiful music he makes with those nimble fingers of his. Accompanying Ron is son, RJ Likovic on the drums, a recent member of the lodge.  Grab your dancing shoes—and your favorite dancing partner and head on out for a delightful afternoon.  Or just sit and listen to the music, tap your feet and socialize with your friends.  For more information, please feel free to contact Gerri Trebets at 440-951-9611.

Thanks to our ambitious group of workers, several cosmetic changes are being made to the grounds, or will be shortly underway in order to make this a place where you can enjoy a carefree, relaxing afternoon.  Don’t forget to support all the other lodges and organizations—we are all working toward one common good!!!  A great line up of entertainment is in store for 2015.
