Farewell Miss Mrs. Knight

Mrs. Linda Knight has dedicated her career to teaching and helping young people. We were blessed to have her with us at Euclid City School since 1993. She began her teaching career in 1981 in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City Schools as a preschool teacher. Mrs. Knight also taught at Laurel School, a private school for girls in Shaker Heights before finding a permanent home at Euclid City Schools for the final 22 years of her career. She taught fifth and sixth grade at Forest Park for three years then two years at Glenbrook as a third grade teacher.

Mrs. Knight then moved on to the next chapter as a principal. She led from an administrative capacity for a total of 17 years at multiple buildings in the district: Glenbrook, Indian Hills, Upson, and Bluestone. Furthermore, Mrs. Knight spent an immeasurable amount of hours writing grants to better the educational experience of her students.

Mrs. Knight’s compassion and kindheartedness cannot be overlooked. She developed a genuine program that ultimately turned into an event where community leaders and members as well as families of students were invited to a Local Heroes assembly. The Local Heroes program consisted of students writing an essay about someone who inspires them. The final essays were selected and presented in the company of school staff, families and the community.

Words cannot express how much we are going to miss Mrs. Knight. She is a teacher in the truest sense of the word. Her retirement was earned and is well deserved. Thank you, Mrs. Knight.
