Ss. Robert & William School "Taste of Nations Gala"

The Catena Family, 2015 TON Award Recipients

Ss. Robert & William School kicked off the spring season and drew 250 guests to the “Taste of Nation’s Gala,” which was held in the school’s ballroom (a.k.a. gym).  Proceeds from the annual event benefitted SRW School.

The evening included a journey through the school’s classrooms featuring cuisine from seven cultures, a Vienna Cafe, games and raffles galore, and a Cigar Lounge.  Entertainment was provided by The Joey Tomsik Orchestra. The Catena Family of Mama Catena Ristorante was the recipient of the 2015 Taste of Nations award.

The overriding theme of the gala was support of the school, its students, and Catholic education.  Guests were treated to a number of musical pieces by the school band, under the direction of Mr. Tom Trost, and a student art auction was included in the evening.  Students, under the guidance of Art Teacher, Ms. Liz Edwards, created unique pieces for the raffle.   In addition, faculty member, Mrs. Ellie McClusky, coordinated the menu for “Mexico,” where she and the National Junior Honor Society students prepared and served food selections which were representative of that country.

A host of parents, students, parish volunteers and friends served in many capacities to make the evening a success.  Sponsors of the event included Geauga Mechanical, Fidelis Partners and RG Digital.
