Cleveland Clinic Honors Local Fire and EMS Personnel

More than 150 first responders and Cleveland Clinic leaders gathered to honor local firefighters and EMS personnel who contributed to saving a life.

Among those recognized was the Euclid Fire Department for helping save a woman who was in a serious car accident while nine months pregnant.

Although she was not expected to survive the accident, Euclid firefighters continued CPR and quickly transported her to Hillcrest Hospital where her baby was delivered via an emergency C-section. Both the mom and her now two year old son attended the awards ceremony to personally thank the firefighters for saving their lives. Euclid firefighters Jeff Mann, Adam Reichman, Nate Barry and Elton Murray received the Distinguished Service Medal Award.

Also recognized during the event were the Cleveland Heights, South Euclid, Mayfield Heights and Lakewood Fire Departments.
