Ss. Robert & William Parish Presents Its Taste of Nations Gala

Students from SRW School celebrate their work on the upcoming Taste of Nations Gala

If you love homemade ethnic food, why don’t you join us at our annual Taste of Nations Gala, which is being held on Saturday, April 18,2015.  The evening will begin with a Polka Mass (The Joey Tomsick Orchestra is providing the music), followed by dinner at 5:45 p.m. (Doors open at 5:00 p.m.)  This is a wonderful opportunity for guests to experience many different international cuisines representing those of Eastern Europe, Germany, the Phillipines, Ireland, Italy, and Latin America.  Parishioners have been preparing and making items to be served in these food rooms.

Assisting with the event is Ss. Robert and William School’s National Junior Honor Society members who have adopted the Latin America room as their service project.  They will be rolling over 300 garlic beef enchiladas, as well as serving rice and beans. Special empanadas will complete this room’s cuisine.

Art teacher, Elizabeth Edwards, has taken on the task of decorating doors and the hallway. Each of her classes has adopted a food room to decorate.  Furthermore, the school students have been asked to make donations to their classroom baskets, which will be raffled off and to be of service the night of the event.

The fundraiser includes a wine pull, raffles galore, including the chance to win $2,250 in the Pot of Gold Raffle, a 55” television set, a bottle of Dom Perignon, homemade Adirondack chairs, and many other high end prizes.  The Taste of Nation’s Award will be presented to The Catena Family (Mama Catena’s Ristorante) for their commitment to community, diversity and unity.

The Joey Tomsick Orchestra, Irish Dancers, Jack McLaughlin (a student and our roving violinist), and a bagpiper are part of the entertainment for the evening.  One can also relax at the Cigar Lounge, the Vienna Café, or at the Champagne Bar.

Tickets for the event are $50 and can be purchased at the Parish Office (216-731-1515) or on-line at www.srweuclid.cc (click on the donation tab).

Ss. Robert and William Parish is located at 367 East 260th St., Euclid.  The Gala will be held in the school gym which is located at 351 East 260th St., Euclid.
