Shore Cultural Centre Celebrates New Theater Curtains

Euclid Symphony Orchestra concert at Shore Cultural Centre, showcasing new curtains.

Meg McGarry, Chair of the original committee to obtain a cultural centre for Euclid in 1980, recently discussed the Shore Cultural Centre auditorium and the importance of this venue for the community. “Shore is a beacon now for all who wish our community to excel.  The Cleveland Orchestra once played in our gorgeous theatre wing, remarking on its excellent acoustics.  Quite a compliment from one of the top five orchestras in the entire world!  The most recent addition to the theatre are the new red stage curtains, bringing vibrancy and efficiency to our performances.  We are most grateful for this gift.”

Recently Shore Cultural Centre was fortunate to receive anonymous donations to purchase the new curtains for the theater, and they had their premiere during the “Remember the Pines” production last fall. “We are very thankful for the community members that care deeply about our building, and the activities that take place in our auditorium. We’re on a mission.”, stated Property Manager Laura Kidder. “Attending the Euclid Symphony Orchestra concert this past December was a joy, and the new curtains made the event even more festive!”

Several theatre groups, as well as the Euclid Orchestra, perform at Shore and their audiences are growing in number.  Last October, Silhouette’s production of “Fiddler on the Roof” broke its own attendance records for its second weekend performances on Saturday and Sunday.  Please mark the weekends of October 16th through the 18th and the 23rd through the 25th for Silhouette’s fall musical production in 2015! "Better yet, enrich your life and your family by taking part in the myriad of wonderful activities this grand old building is offering you every day", states Ms. McGarry.
