Cisco Students Advance to Nationals

The Cisco Networking Academy part of Tech Prep at Euclid High School competed at the latest Business Professional of America State Leadership Conference in Columbus last week.

Aaron Ogden took 1st place in the Systems Administration Using Cisco competition, while Kalvin Owens placed 2nd in the same event. Jacob Hoggett took 2nd place in the Computer Networking Technology competition with Colin McLaughlin finishing in 6th place. In the Network Design competition, Dan Wenzel and Matt Leicher placed 6th in the presentation event.

The tests demonstrate the students’ knowledge of the Cisco networking commands and devices as well as a general knowledge of networking terms and concepts. The tests are comparable to the Industry Certification exams such as CompTia’s Network+ and Cisco’s CCNA

Aaron Ogden, Kalvin Owens, and Jacob Hoggett will compete in the National Competition held in Indianapolis from April 30 to May 4th. This will mark the 6th year in a row students from the program have advanced to the National Events.
