A "Shrek" of A Good Time!

Euclid High School Presents “Shrek the Musical”, see Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona like you’ve never seen them before!  Director, Ken Ferlito, and Euclid students are doing it again, taking the audience to a place so familiar, yet so different.

“Good morning birds, good morning trees. Oh what a lovely day,” Crystal Drennon (Fiona) sings as she waltzes across the stage. The eight counts echo through the Euclid High School Auditorium as Choreographer, Heather Koniz works with Ricardo Martin (Pied Piper) on a tap routine to the song “Morning Person,” that features 23 enthusiastic Euclid elementary students.

According to Ken Ferlito and several cast members, the show is full of surprises.  About 142 students make up the cast and crew, including leads Kevin Terry (Shrek) and Issac Vicar (Donkey).  Cast members are busy rehearsing every day after school and some weekends.  The stage crew spends evenings and weekends perfecting the set.  Stage crew member, Jacob Hogget shared his excitement about the sets and how many of the sets are borrowed from the Broadway traveling show of Shrek.

Cast members describe “Shrek The Musical” as fun, colorful, funny, fierce, and spectacular! Bring your family and make this Euclid community tradition your own!  Opening night is Thursday, March 20th at 7:30 p.m. at Euclid High School, the show runs through Sunday, March 23rd. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for senior citizens and students.  For more information or to purchase tickets please call 216.797.7889 or 215.797.2912.
