Pub crawl festive and benefits hunger center
The holidays are indeed here again and never a better time to get together with friends and family. The Third Annual Home for the Holidays Pub Crawl & Poker Run is just the venue you need. Not only can you get together with the gang and do a bit of socializing, but you are also helping the community via the Euclid Hunger Center.
Ron Emser, who has organized this event since it began, is also a board member of the Euclid Hunger Center. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the local hunger center at Shore Cultural Centre. Ron is also challenging business and corporate neighbors to match the donation to the hunger center.
So, here's how it works -- you stop into one of these fine Euclid establishments, anytime before Jan. 9 and pay $20 to participate. Your $20 covers the cost of the ticket and a t-shirt, and you get your t-shirt right away. That's right ... no waiting ‘til the finish. Visit all nine locations before Jan. 9 and get your ticket stamped at each tavern.
We'll be having a Drawing Party at Sticks Pub & Grille (at Briardale Greens) on Jan. 15. This is where you'll pick your cards. Drafts, pop, and food will be provided.
The Best Hand will win $250, with the runner-up winning $100.There is also a consolation drawing for all finishers. Each participating tavern has contributed to the cash prizes.
Ready to get started? Run, don't walk to one of these fine establishments and get your ticket and t-shirt. The participants are 2nd Chance Lounge (East 200th Street), Cebars Tavern (East 185th Street), Erie Waters (Shore Center Drive), Pacers, (East 260th Street), Paradise Restaurant & Pub (Babbitt Road), Scoreboard Tavern, (East 222nd Street), Stevenson's (Lakeshore Boulevard), Sticks Pub & Grille, (Briardale Greens) and Tradewinds Lounge, (East 200th Street).
What better way to celebrate the holidays by getting the old gang together and also helping those less fortunate neighbors in our community? I hope to run into some of you folks on the Crawl Trail.
